How it works

Three taps. That's the loop.

Why JustKcal is simple

A list of what we left out.

Most calorie apps add features to keep you opening them. We removed everything that wasn't the number.

No daily goal
A reference TDEE if you want one. Off by default.
No streaks
Miss a day. Miss a week. Nothing breaks.
No coaching
No "great job" nudges. No traffic-light scores.
No food shame
Every food is "fine." We just count it.
No 8-tap log
One photo. One serving. Done.
No social feed
Your meals are not content.
Today, calmly
1,840kcal

That's the whole screen. Tomorrow it'll be a different number, on the same calm canvas.

Designed to be forgotten

The fastest app you'll
barely use.

Open it, scan, close it. The whole interaction is under 8 seconds. Most days you won't need history, charts, or settings — and that's the point.

Questions, briefly

FAQ

How accurate is the photo scan?

Within ~10–15% for most common foods, which is roughly the same accuracy as guessing serving sizes by eye on any tracker. We round and don’t pretend otherwise. You can adjust servings with one tap.

Does it work without an account?

Yes. Everything stays on your phone. Sign in with Apple or Google only if you want sync between devices.

What about macros, fiber, sugar, sodium?

Macros are there if you tap. Everything beyond that lives one screen away. The default view is just kcal.

Why no daily goal?

Goals turn a number into a verdict. We’d rather give you the number and let you decide what it means. If you want a reference TDEE, you can switch it on in Settings.

How much does it cost?

Free with every core feature unlocked. Optional pro tier later for cloud sync and trends export. The default app stays free.

One number.

Free on iPhone. iOS 17 and up.
